FY2022 Omnibus Budget Passed with Increases for L.A.M.

Yesterday, Congress has passed the FY 2022 omnibus budget bill with level-funding for LSTA, the program that funds grants to state libraries. IMLS overall saw an increase for museums and that should be celebrated. Congress knows IMLS is libraries and museums, not or.

EveryLibrary is uniquely focused on helping local libraries during political and funding crises, and state or national library organizational partners reach and activate the public about budgetary, legislative, or regulatory issues. In 2021, we were working hard to help support the funding future of school libraries and public libraries across the country. 

A Win for the Whitesburg Library!

January 21, 2022

The Whitesburg Public Library in West Georgia was threatened with a 32 percent cut to the library budget by the City. If advocates hadn't acted quickly, this loss of funding would have resulted in the closure of the library since it violates the agreement with the County and results in an additional loss of $18,000 in County funds, as well as State funding!  We were proud to support the team of advocates on the ground with the digital and financial tools that helped them keep the library open.

Thank You Book Riot and Donors!

We’re excited that we were able to close out 2021 with support from Book Riot through their matching donation campaign. They promised to match all donations up to $5,000 - and fans of Book Riot responded by making over $10,000 in small and large donations! That means that we were able to raise over $15,000 to help fund the fight against censorship in the United States.
