Welcoming Ashley Stewart

EveryLibrary is happy to announce that Ashley Stewart is joining us as our new Campaign Strategist. In this role, she will consult with public libraries on their funding or building ballot measures, local Vote Yes Committees on winning campaign strategies, and the occasional Vote No committee to oppose bad policies for libraries across America.

EveryLibrary Endorses the Prison Libraries Act, an Important Step Towards Rehabilitation and Reintegration for Incarcerated Individuals

EveryLibrary, the national political action committee for libraries, announces its endorsement of H.R. 2825, the Prison Libraries Act of 2023, a vital legislative proposal aimed at expanding library resources in U.S., state, and territory correctional facilities. 

New Era for Niles-Maine Township Library

The Niles-Maine Township Library has gone through a very difficult and truly transformative period since the Spring 2021 trustee election that saw new board members start to dismantle the library from the inside. Their actions, including enacting a "temporary” hiring freeze and slashing the library's budget, have been detrimental to the library and the community it serves. The fight to safeguard the library was a long one - and was rather acrimonious at times.
