NH State Library Budget Saved Today! Help Defeat HB324 on Thursday.
We are so glad to share that the Budget Amendment that would have closed the New Hampshire State Library was stopped today! The agency is too important to each and every library to let it become a political pawn.
The headline from WMUR says it all:
NH lawmakers back away from plan to eliminate state library after flood of emails

We are grateful to over 3,400 people who took action so quickly and decisively for libraries. The network of library stakeholders and allies, especially the team at Moms Rising, is impressive.
Now, New Hampshire schools need your help defeating HB324 on Thursday, March 27. HB324 is a bill that would criminalize educators, school librarians, administrators, and school boards over the textbooks, library books, and instructional materials in their schools. This is the third legislative session where politically motivated special interests are trying to pass bills that censor books, limit access, and bring the culture war to New Hampshire towns and schools. The full House can stop this bad legislation by voting it down or tabling it, but they need to hear from their constituents.
Please take the critically important step of sending a message to your New Hampshire state representative now to Vote No on HB324. To make your voice heard, please go to https://action.everylibrary.org/oppose_hb324_nh_2025.
