Statement: Supporting the Lawsuit Against Censorship in DoDEA School Libraries

Students at K-12 schools on U.S. military bases have the same fundamental First Amendment rights as all students. These rights do not disappear at the schoolhouse gate because they attend a school on a base. EveryLibrary stands in support of the students and families who, with the assistance of the ACLU, have filed a federal lawsuit against the Department of Defense and the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).

Together, We Stopped a Dangerous Bill in Arkansas

We are relieved and proud to share that Senate Bill 536, which would have abolished the Arkansas State Library and eliminated the State Library Board, was defeated in a House committee last week. It is a tremendous win for libraries, library workers, and readers across the state.

New Hampshire Voters Reject HB324: A Call for Local Control, Not Criminalization

EveryLibrary and MomsRising commissioned the University of New Hampshire Survey Center to include a series of questions about HB324, its implications for education, and its potential impact in its March 2025 Granite State Poll, a monthly tracking poll of voter sentiments.
