Welcoming Ed Garcia to our Advisory Committee

We are thrilled today to announce that Ed Garcia, director of the Cranston (RI) Public Library, is joining our Advisory Committee as a campaign advisor.

In November 2014, Ed and his team successfully fielded a $6 million building and renovation bond to the voters in Cranston.  It was one of our campaigns and a great win, allowing CPL to take care of many necessary upgrades and repairs.

Ed Garcia is a campaign advisor to EveryLibrary. He is the Director of the Cranston Public Library in Cranston, RI. A newly minted librarian, prior to earning his MLIS from the University of Rhode Island in 2008, Ed was a marketing professional for 10 years at Sony Music and the Boston Phoenix. He was also Rhode Island Director of the American Diabetes Association and the Executive Director of the Diabetes Association of Greater Fall River. Ed was named both a ALA Emerging Leader and a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2010. He is active in ALA and is a current ALA Councilor-at-Large, member of the Committee on Diversity and RUSA Board of Directors. In Rhode Island, Ed is a current member of the RI Council of Economic Advisors and Congressman Jim Langevin’s Education Advisory Committee. Ed is also a happily married father of twin sons. Ed has been a regular contributor to our campaign strategy discussions.  This formalizes his Advisory role.  I'm very grateful to him for sharing his wisdom and connections with us.
