I Read Banned Books

WHAT THIS SHIRT FUNDS

EveryLibrary is the only national political action committee for libraries in the United States.

There is exactly one organization in this country whose entire job is fighting for libraries. You're looking at it.

For every $1 we raise, libraries get $1,600 back in stable funding. Since 2012 we've helped libraries win $3.2 billion at the ballot box, defended over 100 communities against defunding and book ban campaigns, and worked alongside more than 150 school libraries fighting to keep their doors open. All of it pro-bono for the libraries. None of it funded by libraries or tax dollars. Your $10 a month is what makes the work possible.

In 2026 we're fighting state book ban bills in Iowa, New Hampshire, and beyond. We're defending IMLS, the federal agency that keeps the whole library system running, after the White House moved to gut it last spring. And we just launched Read. Lead. RUN!, a national campaign to recruit library workers and library supporters to run for public office. Because the long-term answer to bad library policy is more library people on the ballot.

This is America's 250th year. The country we celebrate this July should be one where the shelves are full, the doors are open, and the freedom to read is protected for everyone. That's the work. That's what your $10 funds.

The shirt is the part you wear. EveryLibrary is the part that fights.

Things you might be wondering

Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account dashboard or by emailing us. No phone trees, no hoops.
Where does my $10 go?
EveryLibrary is the country's only national political action committee for libraries. Your monthly support funds advocacy on book bans, library defunding fights, school librarian protection, and federal threats to IMLS. We work in every state, every year.
Is this tax-deductible?
No. EveryLibrary is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, which means donations are not tax-deductible. The tradeoff is that we can do political advocacy that 501(c)(3) organizations can't. If you want a tax-deductible gift, support our sister organization, EveryLibrary Institute (EIN 81-4351204).
When does the shirt ship?
Within 2 to 3 weeks of signup. We'll email you a confirmation when yours goes out.
Who makes this shirt?
The shirts are made by Raygun, the independent apparel company based in Des Moines, Iowa. Raygun shirts are designed and printed in-house in Des Moines, and the company prioritizes ethically made apparel, including USA-made options, union-made work, sweatshop-free sourcing, and better labor standards across its supply chain. You can read more on Raygun's ethically made, designed, and printed page.
Can I switch shirts later?
Please email us as soon as you can. We can't guarantee a swap once orders are moving, but if you reach out very soon we can most likely switch you to another shirt.
What sizes are available?
Unisex XS through XXL. You'll choose your size at signup.
What if I want to give more than $10?
Go for it. Pick any monthly amount you're comfortable with at signup. The shirt offer applies at $10/month and up.
