Since 2012 we've helped libraries win $3.2 billion at the ballot box, defended over 100 communities against defunding and book ban campaigns, and worked alongside more than 150 school libraries fighting to keep their doors open. In 2026 we're fighting state book ban bills in Iowa, New Hampshire, and beyond. We're defending IMLS, the federal agency that keeps the whole library system running, after the White House moved to gut it last spring. And we just launched Read. Lead. RUN!, a national campaign to recruit library workers and library supporters to run for public office. Because the long-term answer to bad library policy is more library people on the ballot.
