We are excited to announce our first win of 2017 in Madison, Connecticut.

The vote was a terrific 1,897 in support of the library project, while only 550 people voted no. This win last night (February 7, 2017) means the library can more than double in size, from its current 17,000 square feet to 37,000 square feet. The library expansion plan was a decade in the making. Way back in 2008, voters rejected a plan to expand the library. Now with about 78% of the community voting Yes, they can move ahead with creating a 21st century library for their town.

Just $5-25 a month ensure we can continue our work

We enjoyed working with the staff at the Scranton Memorial Library for nearly a year and it was a great show of effort by many staff, individuals, volunteers, and consultants. The local committee deserves credit for winning this campaign through their hard work and dedicated time and energy. They did had an outstanding phone campaign supported by data from a local consultant who knew the local political environment. These combined efforts, and the outstanding organization of the local campaign committee, are what made it possible to win this campaign at such a high margin. We are proud to have been able to support, train, and guide them throughout the entire campaign process.

This kind of campaign support is the core of our work at EveryLibrary. Our donors made it possible for Madison and 60 other libraries in small towns and big cities around the U.S. We are looking forward to working with over a dozen more libraries in 2017 who have great ideas for their communities, and who need voter approval. But we need your help today so that when another great group of local volunteers - folks who are willing to give up nights and weekends for their library - come to us for help, we can do it without hesitation.

A donation of $25-50 funds our political actions for libraries

We’re called “EveryLibrary” because every one of these libraries matter. All of our work for every library campaign committee is pro-bono through your donations and support. Thank you for making a contribution today.

P.S. Their phone campaign there was really smart. But data work like that isn’t cheap. Please help us help the next library community as a donor today.
