Supporting the Fight Against Book Banning in Livingston Parish

EveryLibrary has been supporting the right to read and the integrity of the library for several months.

We are proud to support the community of Livingston Parish, Louisiana, who recently fought against a sweeping book ban policy and won!

A $5 donation goes a long way to support your right to read at your local library.

EveryLibrary has been supporting the right to read and the integrity of the library for several months.

Donations from people like you have made this possible.

We helped local activists create the "Livingston Parish Library Alliance" to fight back against outside book banners and agitators. Our free digital tools and direct consulting helped jumpstart their organizing and win a major fight against book banners. We were able to spend money on community organizing, outreach, and media to help library activists reach other people who care.

Take a stand against book banning!

I am very proud of the relationships we’ve built with local activists in Livingston Parish. It means everything to me personally and professionally to be able to show up for people who show up for libraries.

The fight to preserve and defend that library in Livingston Parish isn’t over. The forces who want to censor books and deconstruct libraries are active there and across Louisiana. If you think this kind of direct support matters for Livingston Parish and other libraries facing crises around the country, please let me know by donating today.

We are only as effective as our ability to show up.

Thank you for helping to make that happen.

Executive Director

P.S. - Check out our new report on Voter Perceptions of Book Bans in the United States. The insights from this project help us be better allies to libraries in need.
