Moderated by IBPA Chief Content Officer and frequently challenged author Lee Wind, this conversation will explore the role of literature in countering censorship and promoting diversity.
"We Are Stronger Than Censorship" is an initiative of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), EveryLibrary, and the EveryLibrary Institute. The goal of the program is that for every book banned or challenged between September 1 and September 30, 2024, two or more books will be donated – turning negativity and fear into positivity and love... in the form of books! The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) and EveryLibrary Institute have teamed up to spread light and inclusive books to readers in communities across the US impacted by efforts to restrict the availability of books featuring Black, Queer, and other under-represented characters and themes.
