Spring 2025 Campaign Forecast: Our Libraries on the Ballot

We are supporting four critically important Spring 2025 local elections for libraries in four communities.

We are supporting four critically important Spring 2025 local elections for libraries in four communities: Cape Girardeau and Ste. Genevieve in Missouri, Louisburg, Kansas, and Jefferson County, Oregon. Each community faces unique challenges, but they all share the important goal of securing funding and support for libraries, which serve as essential hubs of knowledge, connection, and opportunity.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri  - April 8, 2025

In Cape Girardeau, the library is seeking funding to expand digital resources and modernize its facilities. EveryLibrary conducted an in-person training session for the library board, emphasizing strategies for effectively communicating the library’s value, particularly to residents who may not currently view themselves as library users. Additionally, we are providing ongoing training and resources to the ballot committee, which is organizing a series of community engagement events designed to reach diverse segments of the local population.

Ste. Genevieve, Missouri  - April 8, 2025

The historic library in Ste. Genevieve urgently needs infrastructure upgrades and expanded space to better serve its patrons. EveryLibrary has provided targeted training for the library board and campaign resources for staff. We are collaborating closely with the active Friends group to create a grassroots outreach strategy that highlights the community's pride in its rich heritage and positions the library as central to the community’s continued growth.

Louisburg, Kansas  - May 6, 2025

Louisburg’s beloved library has outgrown its current facilities, prompting a campaign for funding to build a new, expanded structure. EveryLibrary has assisted library staff in developing a comprehensive campaign timeline and messaging strategy. We have also provided virtual training for the Friends group on mobilizing volunteers and engaging potential donors. Local advocates are highly motivated, and we continue offering them resources to effectively communicate their passion and secure support from undecided voters.

Jefferson County, Oregon - May 15, 2025

The Jefferson County Library has been working on an expansion plan for over 20 years. After conducting a community survey and re-evaluating the library's strategic plan, the board has decided to place a bond measure on the ballot in May 2025 to meet the evolving the needs of the community. EveryLibrary has provided the library staff additional support and resources for the campaign's messaging and communications strategy.

Why Our Specialized Training Matters

Successful library campaigns depend on the combined efforts of library boards, staff, and Friends groups, along with the independent dedication of local "Vote Yes" committees. On the informational side, library boards navigate political landscapes to build consensus, staff authentically communicate the library's daily value, and Friends groups drive grassroots engagement. Local community advocates amplify this passion and commitment, focusing on Election Day. By providing tailored training and resources, EveryLibrary ensures these groups coordinate effectively, creating cohesive and successful campaigns aligned with each library’s goals.

The Bigger Picture

These campaigns represent more than just local funding—they shape the future of entire communities. Libraries are centers of literacy, learning, and community connection, providing essential technology access, supporting early literacy, and offering inclusive spaces. Investment in libraries translates directly into community strength and resilience.

EveryLibrary provides all campaign support, training, and resources pro bono, ensuring that libraries can focus on their communities rather than fundraising for campaign expenses. This crucial work is only possible through the generous support of our donors. Your contributions enable us to deliver expert guidance and resources to libraries nationwide. Together, we ensure communities have the strong, vibrant libraries they deserve.
