Rapid Response for Libraries in 2025
Libraries across the country are facing unprecedented challenges again—from political attacks on the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the Trump Administration to ongoing threats of funding cuts and censorship in local communities. Unfortunately, these crises are becoming more frequent, and when they strike, libraries need immediate, effective support to protect essential services, jobs, and access to information.
Our Rapid Response Fund is the Solution
EveryLibrary is the only national political action committee for libraries. When a crisis hits—like sudden budget cuts, proposed legislation that undermines library services, or book challenges that threaten readers’ rights—our Rapid Response Fund enables us to act quickly. We run targeted digital advocacy campaigns that cut through the noise and rally the public to stand with their libraries. We have a proven track record of success:
•New Hampshire State Library Budget: We successfully stopped defunding efforts in just 24 hours.
•Fair Hope Library: When state politics threatened to pull funding, our Fund Libraries platform helped the local community organize and prevail.
•Fight for the First in Elizabeth, Colorado: A federal judge ordered banned books to be returned to school libraries after we helped mobilize nationwide support.
We’re also proud of our past work in places like LaFourche, LA, Twin Lakes, GA, Citrus County, FL, and Menominee County, MI, where we stood by librarians and successfully defended library budgets and services.
Your Gift Makes a Substantial Difference

1.Protect Library Funding: Keep vital resources—like IMLS grants—available for communities nationwide.
2.Defend Readers’ Rights: Push back against book bans and censorship.
3.Safeguard Library Jobs and Programs: Ensure librarians and staff can keep serving their communities.
