In August of 2022, the Missouri State Senate was voting on legislation that would give more rights to survivors of sexual assault. Republicans in the state Senate seized the opportunity to force new language into the bill that arbitrarily banned educators from reading dozens of books to minors.

Idaho HB314 Veto Sustained

The Idaho House failed to overturn Gov. Brad Little's veto of HB314, the so-called "Children's School and Library Protection Act" of 2023. As the Governor noted in his veto message, the bill would have created a "bounty system" incentivizing people with $2,500 rewards to make allegations and challenges against books in libraries.

Sugar Grove Public Library Passes Operating Referendum with 67% of the Vote!

Last night, the Sugar Grove Public Library passed its operating levy with an overwhelming 67% of the vote. This is great news for the library and the SGPL community, which has been struggling with funding issues for some time.
