EveryLibrary was proud to be the library coordinating partner for National Entrepreneurship Week, a congressionally chartered campaign to highlight and encourage startups, small businesses, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Libraries play a key role in supporting business development and librarians help entrepreneurs shape their ideas and take them to market. Through a partnership with Gale, a Cengage company, we help connect hundreds of libraries with the national “e-ship network” of other anchor institutions, non-profits, economic development agencies, and state and federal government to highlight the unique, high-impact, and ongoing role libraries play.
As part of that mission, we presented a webinar on “Libraries and Incubators” with Gale and the Kansas City Public Library on ways that libraries help create business success. You can view the archive of the webinar below. In it, you’ll see how the team at Kansas City Public Library provides individual support to existing businesses and to staters in every step from idea to launch. The Gale team shares about how their best-in-class resources provide the market intelligence and business information entrepreneurs need – and all with a library card. EveryLibrary provides an overview of successful models for rural and urban economic development that includes librarians.

The webinar was co-hosted by InBIA, the international organization for business incubators, accelerators, coworking spaces, and other entrepreneurship support organizations. We want to thank the coordinating team for #NaltEshipWeek for helping to bring libraries to the forefront of this national campaign. Libraries are community anchor institutions and librarians are co-creators of economic development and individual prosperity. The e-ship community is smart to put them to work. .

Join us and hundreds of more libraries in February 2020 for National E-Ship Week.
