Maia Kobabe, the queer cartoonist from California and author of the award-winning Gender Queer: A Memoir. Maia’s memoir, which won a Stonewall Honor and an Alex Award from the American Library Association in 2020, has also been the most challenged book in the US for three consecutive years. Maia’s work, which includes short comics published by The New Yorker, The Nib, and The Washington Post, reflects a deep exploration of identity.

Abi Maxwell, author of the new memoir One Day I'll Grow Up and Be a Beautiful Woman: A Mother's Story, shares her personal journey raising her trans daughter in rural New Hampshire. Abi’s memoir details her path to understanding and advocating for her daughter's rights in their community. Discover how both authors blend their creative processes with advocacy and storytelling.
