For most causes and communities, a structured political voice exists as their advocates. Librarians have long had advocates in the library associations walking the halls of Congress and many a state legislature, but rarely have libraries had help at the local ballot box. Rarely have highly-skilled organizations formed to educate the electorate about local ballot measures positively or negatively affecting libraries.
