If these libraries lose on November 8th, they close.
What’s at stake next week for the libraries is pretty clear. Over 200 libraries are on the ballot across the country. EveryLibrary is supporting 13 of them on operations and building measures. I’ve loved working with all of them, but two are very special to me because if they lose, they close.

I don’t want to see that happen to either library. It’s 2016 and we shouldn’t be shuttering libraries in this country.
Douglas County, OR and Jeannette, PA have unavoidable structural problems with their county and municipal budgets. They need these new levies to stay open and continue to serve their communities. If they lose in Oregon, 11 towns in Douglas County lose their library. If they lose in Pennsylvania, the library at the heart of Jeannette goes dark. This is not a Red or Blue state issue. It’s not about who is at the top of the ticket. It’s a basic issue that everyone should care about. Libraries are one of the few American Institutions that have been proven to improve the lives of community members and we want to ensure that the community members in Jeannette and Douglas County have the means to improve their lives.
Just $5-$10 a month makes a big difference in our ability to help libraries like these
That's why EveryLibrary has been there for both of these campaigns and 11 others for many months. We have given money and resources to many Ballot Committees. We do this all over the country for libraries when they are on the ballot. We can only do it because of our donors. If you can help us help libraries like Jeannette and Douglas County, become a donor today. Most of our donors give monthly, and the average donation is only between $5 and $10 a month. We get a lot done on just a few dollars a month from you. Can you add your monthly support today? We also already working with about a dozen libraries for 2017 elections. A one time donation of $25 to $50 will help us on two coming in February, today.
Thank you,
