Join the Social Video Rally to Save IMLS Funding
We want the president and Congress to hear directly from librarians and library supporters about the value IMLS funding provides libraries and the communities they serve.
Once again, the president’s budget proposes permanent elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
To fight this, we need your help! We want the president and Congress to hear directly from librarians and library supporters about the value IMLS funding provides libraries and the communities they serve.
So we have teamed up with Gale, a Cengage company, to ask librarians and library supporters attending the Public Library Association (PLA) conference, February 24-29 in Nashville, TN, to stop by the Gale booth #712 and shoot a 30-60 second video explaining in your own words how IMLS funding helps your library (or you personally) and the impact it would have on your community if funding was cut. Then we will share that video in social channels and tag your local legislators/Congress members and the president so that they can hear real-life stories of how libraries help communities thrive and why they should continue funding them.
Not attending PLA, but still want to participate? No problem! Create your own video and share it on Twitter, Facebook and/or LinkedIn and tag your local legislator(s), the president, @galecengage and @EveryLibrary with the hashtags, #FundLibraries, #SaveIMLS.
So, let’s get this video rally started and let your voice be heard to save IMLS funding!
