Fight for the First is an all-around digital organizing and advocacy platform that provides local pro-library activists with the tools to launch a successful campaign against book bans and censorship. The platform has powerful tools like petitions and sign-on campaigns, but it is much more than just a petition site. FightForTheFirst.org enables concerned stakeholders to find new supporters, share resources, organize events, and raise funds for their campaigns. 

EveryLibrary backs every Fight for the First petition and event with up to $1,000 in digital ads to help you identify, activate, and rally more supporters. You can create events like rallies and read-ins or use the RSVP tools to organize more in-person support at school board and library board meetings. Once you find new supporters, you can set up a group where you can connect with local campaign leaders. If you require more advanced tools, such as paid canvassing, phone banking, or direct mail, we can assist you in getting those done. We help campaigns raise money for signs, t-shirts, and outreach on our fundlibraries.org platform, where we can act as your fiscal agent. 

Local library alliances and education coalitions get personal support from EveryLibrary staff and are invited to our National Library Alliance coordination and training calls twice a month. With dozens of campaigns already running on Fight For the First, you are not alone. There is a growing peer group of other school library and public library organizers to learn from and collaborate with.
