EveryLibrary is proud to support the Geneva, New York campaign for a better library. Next week, on May 17th, the city of Geneva in New York will vote on a proposed $0.14 tax increase per $1,000 in assessed property value.

If passed, the extra cost to the average tax payer in Geneva will be an estimated $13.45 per year or just a little more than $1 per month. This small tax will make a remarkable difference in the ability of the library to provide services to its community.

EveryLibrary has been working with team on the ground to provide tactical support and training to win this campaign for the last 3 months. We spent the day in Geneva providing a 4-hour pro-bono training to the ballot committee on running campaigns and elections for libraries and the team of volunteers on the ground took that training and did some excellent work. They built a strong digital campaign on the NationBuilder platform, developed excellent messages, immediately began contacting and identifying residents willing to vote yes, made headway into the business community, and got the word out about the vote. We are proud to see them have such hardworking and intelligent leadership in their ballot committee. We will continue to support them until their election day on May 17th.
