We're backing the Yes on L committee in South Lake Tahoe for a renewal of Measure L on June 5th, 2014.

EveryLibrary is proud to be donating $1,000 to the committee for their Get Out the Vote efforts.  In January, our Executive Director John Chrastka visited the committee steering committee to work on a tactical campaign planning session. Since then, EveryLibrary has been in regular contact with the committee to provide advice and encouragement, and to consult on specific campaign issues.  This work helps campaigns build and maintain momentum.  The funding is helpful - it went to work on communications and GOTV.  But the chance to provide ongoing coaching to the team there is helpful.

The South Lake Tahoe Library is part of the El Dorado County system (like Georgetown, who we are also backing).  Measure L funds, which will total around $425,000 per year, will be used within the library's own immediate special district.  But the success of this measure matters to the entire system.  Without the Measure L funding, the library would have a significant reduction in their hours and services.  With the renewal, the library can continue to grow and serve.
