Developing a Library Makerspace and Coworking Center
A recent study found that 27% of founders and entrepreneurs started their businesses first as leisure activities or hobbies (Kim, Longest, and Lippmann, 2015). Understanding and supporting hobbyists' journey into entrepreneurship is important if librarians want to help build the e-ship ecosystem in their communities. Join Marlon Moore, Library Media Project Coordinator for the Miami-Dade Public Library System for a free National Entrepreneurship Week 2021 webinar on Developing a Library Makerspace and Coworking Center. Find out more about how to develop spaces that provide access to creative tools and technology as places for entrepreneurs and patrons to grow. You will hear the lessons-learned at MDPLS in designing two innovative makerspaces and a Coworking Center. Learn more about how libraries help support a people-powered economy and help fuel inspiration among entrepreneurs, founders, and starters through access to the tech, facilities, and tools they need.
RSVP Now for this free webinar on Friday, February 19th at 11am CST and also receive the link to the on-demand archive.
