SUPPORTING LIBRARIES AND LIBRARIANS AND FIGHTING CENSORSHIP ACROSS AMERICA

When we launched in 2012 there was no one helping libraries win local ballot measure elections where billions of dollars of library funding is at stake.

In addition to the work we've always done supporting hundreds of library campaigns across the country, we are also working with partners and grass-roots groups across the country to defend libraries, librarians, and local communities from organized attacks and censorship.

In 2023:

  • We launched Fight For the First, a free platform and suite of tools to support grass-roots organizing against censorship.
  • We are tracking and fighting against bad anti-library legislation that seeks to criminalize librarianship
  • We are investing in identifying and mobilizing Americans to take action and push back on organized attempts to censor books.
  • We are fighting against school library closures across the country
  • We are providing rapid-response consulting and fundraising in emergency situations - such as helping the Ridgeland MS Library keep it's doors open.

We need you with us to keep fighting for libraries - donate today
