Our Panelists
Mike Montesa is a senior editor at VIZ Media. A San Francisco Bay Area native, he lived in Japan for 16 years after graduating from San Francisco State University. Upon returning to the U.S. he began working as an editor for VIZ Media, where he has edited hit series such as My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer, among many others.
TJ Ferentini (They/them / he/him) began working in manga publishing in 2016 as an Editorial Intern for Kodansha Comics. They are now a Senior Editor with Kodansha Comics, where they have worked on series such as Attack on Titan, The Blue Wolves of Mibu, and Wandance, and many of Kodansha’s BL and LGBTQ+ series, including Boys Run the Riot, Is Love the Answer?, My Summer of You, Whisper Me a Love Song, The Spellbook Library, and more.
Tucker Stone is the Executive Director of Communications & Marketing at Fantagraphics. He spent over 15 years in the comics & publishing industry, having worked with prestigious organizations such as Nobrow & Flying Eye Books, TOON Books & Ingram. He was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the International Board for Books for Young People, where he serves as Vice President, and won an Eisner in 2018 for his work as Editor at The Comics Journal, also published by Fantagraphics. Prior to his tenure in publishing, he was the Managing Partner for Bergen Street Comics for six years, a comics & graphic novel store in Brooklyn, New York.
Mark de Vera is the Sales & Marketing Director at Yen Press. As a lifelong fan, Mark enjoys speaking about manga with anyone who will listen, whether they be fans at a convention or librarians at a panel.
