Campaign Considerations in Hot Springs

We are sorry to report to you that we are unable to finish the work we had hoped to accomplish with the library community in Hot Springs, MT.

When we announced our support for the "Library Revitalization Committee" back on June 27th it was with an understanding that the committee members would file formal paperwork with the Montana Secretary of State's office to establish a campaign committee. Unfortunately, the committee members were not able to complete that filing. As a result, we are unable to transfer the funds we pledged to their work. As a national organization, EveryLibrary needs a legally constituted local committee in order to transfer funds. While we continue to provide moral support to the community in Hot Springs and hope that their initiative succeeds at the polls, we wanted to let you, our supporters, know that we are not therefore able to be involved in that campaign. The funds earmarked for that work are being used to support other campaign planning and consulting for libraries across the country.
