EveryLibrary is proud to announce that BluuBeam, a leading provider of IoT iBeacon solutions for libraries, as our 2017 partner in encouraging libraries across the United States to become National Disability Voter Registration Week sites. National Disability Voter Registration Week (NDVRW) is the only voter registration event in the county uniquely focused on enfranchising over 34 million Americans with disabilities to vote. Sponsored annually by the RevUp Campaign from the American Association of People with Disabilities (APPD) and celebrated this year from July 17 - 21, 2017, NDVRW encourages everyone who wants to vote to become registered, while educating communities about key policy issues affecting Americans with a disability.

"At BluuBeam we know that becoming registered to vote is a key part of participating in our democratic society," says Chris Zabaleta, BluuBeam’s CEO. "We want to support libraries everywhere by making it easy for millions of Americans to get registered and be involved in elections." As a company, BluuBeam is committed to developing technology that helps blind or low vision patrons interact with and navigate the library. Their current app works with speak over text and they continue working with a pilot libraries to continue R&D for accessibility functions. We also know that ballot accessibility - including screen readers and accessible polling places - are critical for everyone who is registered to be able to participate," adds Zabaleta.

"We are excited that BluuBeam is signing on to support libraries across the country when they help people become voters," says John Chrastka, Executive Director of EveryLibrary, the first national political action committee for libraries and AAPD's library partner for NDVRW 2017. "The accessibility tools BluuBeam develops provide critical supports to day-to-day library programs, services, and facilities. Their commitment to helping libraries become barrier free is right in line with NDVRW's goals."

Over 120 libraries in 48 states are currently registered to support NDVRW 2017.  Your library can sign up to support in National Disability Voter Registration Week via http://action.everylibrary.org/ndvrw.
