A Letter from Spokane
We received a wonderful letter from Pat Partovi, Spokane Library's director, about EveryLibrary's support for Prop 3 which passed on February 13th with 66% of the vote.
Congratulations to Pat and her colleagues at the library on the new $1.6 million levy for the library. And thanks to the Yes for Spokane committee who we funded, consulted and supported through their Get Out The Vote work.
I’d like to commend you and others involved with EveryLibrary for your expert advice and financial support with the Spokane Public Library’s levy campaign. You were knowledgeable and quick to respond with the help we needed the minute we contacted you. This levy wasn’t put on the ballot until December 17, 2012 and the election was on February 12, 2013 so our time was very short. I felt like the stars aligned when I read about EveryLibrary and was very pleased that you saw the need and acted on it. Your involvement gave our campaign the confidence and financial assistance we needed to be successful.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the collaboration and I look forward to working with you again. You were available to “Yes for Spokane Libraries” campaign committee members and even reached out to them, which is what made the relationship so special and the campaign so successful. Thank you to EveryLibrary and its donors for providing funding support to the committee to do voter education and get out the vote work.
I particularly appreciated the opportunity to meet you in Seattle and talk at length about our challenges in Spokane. I’d also like to thank you again for your vision in creating the EveryLibrary PAC, which was a brilliant idea.
We're proud to back measures like Prop 3 that ensure better funding and more stable planning for libraries. If you want to be a part of seeing this happen all around the country we welcome your donations today. They'll get put right to work.
