We just mailed two checks to library campaigns!

Every year EveryLibrary works with dozens of libraries that are going to the voters for funding. One of the ways that we support libraries at the ballot is by making direct contributions to their campaigns.

In fact, through direct campaign donations from our Rapid Response Fund and through pro-bono campaign consulting, we are able to secure over $1,600 in stable local funding for libraries for every $1 we receive in donations.

That's why I was so happy to mail two checks to libraries that are asking the voters to support them in their election days. This direct campaign contribution was only made possible thanks to our donors.

Every dollar we raise helps us ensure over $1,600 in stable local funding for libraries through direct support for library campaigns and elections.

Our first check is heading to the "Citizens for the Library" committee in Portage County, OH. This is the 11th time that the library has been on the ballot to set up a new local levy. Right now, the county library system only runs on state aid and with the COVID-related budget cuts in Ohio, that aid will decrease significantly this coming fiscal year. It's not the first time we have helped the Yes campaign in Portage County, but I sincerely hope it will be the last.

Our second check is going to support a ballot measure in Chesterfield Township, MI. The "Yes for CHE Library" committee is campaigning there to pass a bond to build the first dedicated library building in that growing township north of Detroit. Our donation will help the committee take their neighbor-to-neighbor outreach campaign to the next level. It's truly the first time there that folks have considered a new tax and I am glad we can help them reach out widely to invite people to Vote Yes for their future.

I'm grateful to all the donors who make EveryLibrary's unique and impactful type of library advocacy and activism possible. As the only national political action committee for libraries, we are positioned to do this kind of work every day for each and every library because every one of them matters to their town, city, or county. I invite you to be a part of this mission today by donating. Our staff and leadership team are engaged on the ground with both of these campaigns as well as dozens of others around the country. Our track record of success is clear and our transparency with donors is a core value of our work. If you want to see a future where places like Portage County and Chesterfield Township have thriving, stable, and engaged libraries, we would be honored to put your donation to work.

It's powerful when we can pull together small donations from people who care and share them with Vote Yes for the Library committees. I am proud that EveryLibrary is trusted by thousands of donors to support local library campaigns.
