Issued annually since 2019 by the Indie Author Project to honor outstanding indie authors, her award-winning novel Anyone But Her blends psychological suspense with a gripping family mystery, following a clairvoyant teen shaped by her mother’s death and the haunting secrets that resurface decades later. In this panel, Cynthia will discuss the story’s inspirations, her fascination with “what if” moments, and her path as an acclaimed indie author.
Cynthia is also the author of The Bookseller, The Glass Forest, and editor of the Colorado Book Award–winning anthology Denver Noir. Her work has earned the Colorado Book Award, the WILLA Literary Award, and multiple award nominations. She lives in Denver with her family.
