"Are You a Librarian?" Documentary - FB Live Conversation with Producers

Join us to meet Rodney E. Freeman Jr., the Executive Producer and the driving force behind the documentary. He has envisioned a project that goes beyond commemorating Black librarians' journey. Rodney is a black librarian and acknowledges the role's additional responsibility, stating, "Being a black librarian means that you have an additional responsibility to make sure that everyone is truly represented in the library." Rodney is joined by Adrianna Bennett and Angel Truesdale of the production team to discuss the project with John Chrastka, EveryLibrary Executive Director.

It is created by a team of dedicated librarians and library workers, each with a unique and compelling story. The documentary traces the rich history of Black Librarianship across the country, highlighting the experiences and challenges faced by Black librarians in the past and present. The film sheds light on the history of Black Librarianship and celebrates their accomplishments and innovative approaches to the profession. It provides a fresh perspective on the role Black Librarians play in transforming the field of Librarianship.
